Ellipie Boke wants to be a Spear-chucker. The traditions of her Clan don't allow it. Her father, Nevis, becomes the new Chieftain of the Bang Workers and Ellipie is hoping he'll change things.

He faces challenges within his first days as Chieftan, not just from Ellipie, but also from  the Carlunans, a neighbouring clan who crave peace and  quiet.  They hatch a plot to silence the Bang Workers. 

This has unexpected consequences, when Mother Nature calls for help during the Changeover ceremonies and the Bang Workers, led by Nevis, and Ellipie , are called upon to assist and use their ingenuity to resolve the problems they face.

Romance in the air between the children of the two opposing tribes. Their Coming Together gives Nevis the opportunity to broker peace on behalf of the clans.
